Food Banks Assistance

The recession is pushing many recently unemployed professionals and former small business owners to seek welfare assistance. Unfortunately, many of them don’t qualify for assistance like the food stamp program due to asset and liquidity requirements.

Don’t get frustrated. If you can’t qualify for food stamps, you can still seek the help of food banks.

A food bank is a non-profit organization that distributes food items such as meat and fresh produce. Community food banks may hand out free food to anyone who needs emergency food assistance, including those who earn too much or have too much money in the bank (more than $2,000) to qualify for the food stamp program. People who are already on the food stamp program are still welcome to seek assistance from food banks.
